First off I would like to say, I agree with you bro. We should all pay our tithe to our local assemblies. I also agree with others that it should be done out of our own goodness and not because we are going to hell if we dont. The one thing I dont agree with is people saying tithing is an Old Covenant thing. The principle of tithing is way before the law as Abraham paid tithe to Milchezidek(which "most" agree was Christ Himself). So paying tithe in no way discredits what Christ finished but only enforces a principle that has been in existance since the "father" of faith! Remember, even Christ Himself never said to do away with tithing. In fact He stated to the Pharisees that they should continue to do it, just not forget about the wieghtier matters! Gal 3:15-18 affirms the promise oveshadows the law because it came before the law. Just my thoughts. Love and Yahweh bless family!!!

i never want God to accuse me of "robbing" Him and im sure nobody else would ever lol, i feel it is a MUST to give God what we owe him besides 10% is NOTHING considering the fact that He owns the whole 100% lol, and what better way to stay blessed and in the favor of God than giving Him an offering/sacrifice, as we give unto Him, He continues to give back to us "back in good measure"

I DEFINATELY UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE SAYING BUT LIKE ANONYMOUS SAID TITHING WAS UNDER THE FIRST COVENANT AND WE ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED TO DO THAT. IF WE WERE THEN THAT MEANS CHRIST ATONEMENT WAS NOT OFFICIAL BECAUSE THE PRIESTHOOD IS IN CONTINUATION. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH GIVING FREELY. JUST DONT BE LEGALISTIC. I gladly tithe above 10% and give offering and it's all out of love for God and a heart for His passion for soul. I also give my tithes to my local church where God's business is being taken care of and where my spiritual "levitical priests" serve God by serving me amd my family. My Pastor does not have a job on the side. His 24hour job entails studying the Word, preaching and teaching at least 4 times a week, making himself (and wife) available for counseling (by phone & in person). There's not one person in our local body who is not allowed to have his phone number. On top of all that you still have outreaches, and fellowshipping, etc. He trains leaders and minister that serve under him. He's Senior Admin. of our Christian school that he allowed us to start as a response for the need for Christian education in our body. The principle of giving is universal but the principle of tithing has been completed with the first Covenent. If the principle of tithing was active today we would have to find those that are part of the Levitical blood line and give "the porttions" to them. We don't give because of requirement we give because of need. And if you don't give the locust and kanka worns will not eat your stuff!!

Those that have a heart for God will give out of love, not out of fear
